This super easy side will make even veggie haters think twice. Plus you only need four ingredients before you’re on your way to green bean heaven!

12-16oz fresh green beans
3 strips of bacon
1/4 a yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, mined
- Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans into the water and cook until very green but still crisp-tender, about 8 minutes. Drain the green beans in colander and pour cold water over them (to stop the cooking.)
- In a frying pan or skillet, cook the strips of bacon over medium-high heat. Remove the bacon to a paper towel lined plate to cool, then chop the cooked bacon into small pieces. If there is a large excess of bacon grease you can scoop a little out, but make sure to leave a few tablespoons worth.
- Add the onions and garlic into the same pan with the bacon greases and saute until the onions are clear. Add the green beans back into the pan and stir until tender, around 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and add the chopped bacon and salt and pepper to taste.
