Jonathan makes this weeknight classic all the time! This recipe makes tons of hearty sauce that goes super well with a good garlic bread.

  • 16oz mild italian sausage

  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced

  • 1 green bell pepper, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, mined

  • 8oz cremini mushrooms

  • 2 boxes of spaghetti noodles

  • Start to brown the sausage in a frying pan over medium heat, breaking it into small chunk as it cooks. After a few minutes, add chopped onions, green peppers, garlic, and mushrooms into the pan. Saute until the onions and peppers are soft.
  • Add the can of diced tomatoes, all seasonings, and sugar into the pan. Cover a let simmer for a few minutes.
  • Move the content of the pan into a larger pot. Stir in the whole jar of Prego spaghetti sauce and bring the sauce to a boil. Cover again and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through. While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to it’s packaging.
